Use Case
START YOUR ONLINE PT BUSINESS
FROM SCRATCH.
You're qualified. You know how to coach. This is a practical, step-by-step guide to launching an online personal training business that pays your bills and grows without a ceiling.

WHAT YOU ACTUALLY NEED (AND WHAT YOU DO NOT)
The online coaching industry has a gatekeeping problem. Courses, certifications, masterminds, and guru programmes all tell you that you need their specific system to succeed. You don’t. What you need is a recognised qualification, professional indemnity insurance, and a platform to manage clients, deliver programmes, collect payments, and host live sessions.
Most guides tell you to build a website, set up a funnel, create a lead magnet, buy a Zoom subscription, get a booking tool, sign up for a payment processor, and find a programme delivery app. That’s six tools, three subscriptions, and weeks of setup before you coach a single person.
There’s a simpler path. One platform that handles client management, programme building, automated invoicing, live video classes, scheduling, and multi-currency payments. It won’t cost you anything to start. You pay 7.9% when clients pay you, and nothing when they don’t.
HOW TO START AN ONLINE PT BUSINESS WITH NFORGE
Your first 30 days: from “I have decided to do this” to “I have paying clients.”
Set Up Your Platform
Days 1–3
Sign up for NForge (free, no subscription). Complete your profile with a professional photo, qualifications, and a bio that speaks to your ideal client. Connect your bank account through the guided Stripe setup, which is a one-time process that takes a few minutes. Once done, you can receive payments in multiple currencies, deposited the next business day.
Build Your Templates
Days 4–10
Create 4–6 reusable workout plans covering your core training styles: push, pull, legs, full-body, active recovery. Each includes exercises with sets, reps, tempo, rest, and coaching notes. If you offer nutrition coaching, build 3–4 nutrition templates for common goals. NForge auto-calculates macros from ingredients and portions.
Build Your First Programme
Days 8–10
A programme is a multi-week plan combining your workout and nutrition templates. Build a 4-week beginner programme or a general fitness transformation plan. Week by week, slot your templates into each day. This becomes your first offering, the thing you actually sell to clients.
Get Your First 5 Clients
Days 11–14
Your first clients aren’t strangers on the internet. Make a list of 20 people: former gym clients, friends, family, colleagues who’ve mentioned getting fit. Send each a personal, specific message with a launch rate offer. From 20 messages, expect 3–8 yeses. That’s your starting roster.
Onboard and Deliver
Days 15–20
Add each client in NForge with their goals, health notes, and limitations. Customise a programme template for their needs — or let Forge AI write the whole programme from their intake: a complete plan with real progression and nutrition that adds up, ready for your review in minutes. Assign it, set your price, and NForge handles the rest: generating an invoice, sending it, and delivering the programme as a professional PDF once they pay. You don’t touch an invoice or chase a payment.
Launch a Live Class
Days 21–30
Once your 1-on-1 clients are running smoothly, add a group offering. Create a weekly group workout or Q&A session. Set the price (£5–10 per session), choose a time, and share the booking link. Start by inviting existing clients. A group class adds community, improves retention, and brings in additional revenue per hour.
Open Your Storefront
Day 30 and beyond
Publish your coach profile at nforge.fit/coach/you and list one of your programmes on the marketplace as a plan anyone can buy. Buyers pay by card, receive the full programme as a PDF by email, and land in your client list as leads you can follow up. It’s a storefront that sells while you coach.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
How much does it cost to start an online PT business?
Your PT qualification (which you likely already have), professional indemnity insurance (£50–100/year), and a phone with internet. That’s it. NForge costs nothing upfront. You pay 7.9% only when a client pays you.
Do I need a website?
Not to start. Every class you create on NForge gets its own public booking page. Share it directly. A website becomes useful later for branding and content marketing, but it’s not a prerequisite to start earning.
How many clients can I manage?
There’s no client limit. Start with 5, grow to 50, scale to 100. The fee stays at 7.9% regardless of how many people you coach.
Can I coach clients in different countries?
Yes. NForge supports multiple currencies. A client in the US pays in USD, a client in Europe pays in EUR, and you receive payouts in your local currency. Stripe handles all conversions.
THE TOOLS ARE FREE. THE CLIENTS ARE IN YOUR PHONE.
Open NForge. Build your first programme. Message your first 5 potential clients. The rest is coaching, and you already know how to do that.
